Resolution appointing members of the Equal Opportunity Commission created by The Pittsburgh City Code, Title I, Article VII, Section 161.33.

Body
WHEREAS, by an Ordinance Number 18 of 2000 was enacted to implement the Charter Amendment passed by the citizens of the City of Pittsburgh in November of 1999 and entitled "Pittsburgh Works"; and
 
 WHEREAS, such Ordinance repealed the provisions of the Pittsburgh Code, Title I, Article VII, Chapter 161, Sections 161.18 and 161.19 as well as all then existing regulations issued pursuant thereto and added a Section 161.33; and
 
WHEREAS, Section 161.33 provides for, among other things, the creation of an Equal Opportunity Commission charged with responsibility of overseeing the implementation of Pittsburgh Works!; and
 
WHEREAS, Section 161.34 provides that the Commission shall be comprised of eleven members who are residents of the City and shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to Council approval; and
 
WHEREAS, six members shall serve two year terms and five members shall serve four year terms with the individual members determined by lot; and
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor appoints the members described below and will assign them to terms by lot after Council approval;
 
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
 Section 1. The following eleven individuals are hereby appointed to seats on the Equal Opportunity Commission created by The Pittsburgh City Code, Title I, Article VII, Section 161.33:
 
1.      Rhonda Brandon, Executive Director, Manchester Citizens Corporation
2.      Ron Painter Executive Director, Workforce Investment Board
3.      Linda Couch, Executive Director, Black Contractor's Association
4.      Doris Carson Williams, Executive Director, African American Chamber of Commerce
5.      Margaret Ringel Baker, Margaret Ringel & Associates

6.      James Overton, Vice President, United Way of Allegheny County
