WHEREAS, Fort Pitt Lodge # 1 Fraternal Order of Police is the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities; and
WHEREAS, Fort Pitt Lodge # 1 Fraternal Order of Police is committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement and employee representation; and
WHEREAS, Fort Pitt Lodge # 1 Fraternal Order of Police is hosting its Annual Retirement and Awards Dinner Party on Friday, February 23, 2007, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church; and
WHEREAS, the following seventeen (17) officers who have retired in 2006 will be honored for their years of service:

WHEREAS, in addition to these retirees being honored for their years of service to the residents of the City of Pittsburgh, the following awards are being presented as well:
The Annual Pat McNamara Award to Thomas E. Leheny, Sr.;
Lifetime Achievement Award to Jim Fazio;
Meritorious "Cold Case File" Awards to James R. Smith, April-Noelle Campbell and Scott Evans;
Meritorious "Crime Doesn't Pay" Award" to Stacey Hawthorne-Bey;
Meritorious "Street Response Unit" Awards to Stephen Matakovich and Craig Campbell;
Meritorious "Life Saving Efforts" Awards to Anthony Moreno, Brian Nicholas and Matthew Redpath.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the 2006 retirees and awardees for their dedication and commitment to protecting and serving the people of the City of Pittsburgh; and,
