Be it resolved the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
 
Section 1.  The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a Contract or Contracts, in a form approved by the City Solicitor: UPMC WORKPARTNERS shall provide on-going claims management services related to injuries and/or illness to CITY employees under the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act and nurse case management services in connection with the monitoring of certain workers' compensation claims and medical toward a goal of returning employees to work as soon as they are medically able to return.  UPMC WORKPARTNERS shall render comprehensive claims management services and nurse case management services for CITY employees on an as needed basis, shall maintain complete records retention of all reported claims on behalf of the City, shall prepare and deliver all appropriate benefit payments to claimants, shall prepare and file all claims reports as required by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Workers' Compensation, shall assist in the preparation and filing of all annual reports as required by the state, shall provide the City with reports on injuries and associated costs on an as needed basis, and shall monitor claims and medical treatment.  UPMC WORKPARTNERS shall provide all claims management and nurse case management services as agreed upon in the contract made between the City of Pittsburgh and UPMC WORKPARTNERS on January 1, 2006 at a cost not to exceed $675,085 (Six Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Eighty-Five Dollars), chargeable to and payable from Code Account 44-9, Employee Expense Workers' Compensation Medical, Index Code 004499, Account 574300, Fund 8170, Organization 999300, Sub Class 040 600, and Budget Year 2008, Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission.
 
Finally that any ordinance or Resolution or part thereof conflicting with the provisions of this Resolution, is hereby repealed so far as the same affects this Resolution.
