WHEREAS, Albert Anthony Real Estate is a staple of the Pittsburgh brokerage, real estate services, and property management community, with offices in the Squirrel Hill, East Liberty, and Highland Park neighborhoods of the City, and numerous properties; and,
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Protector Award, in its third year, is given by the family-owned Albert Anthony Real Estate to honor City or County employed Police Officers, Firefighters, and EMT workers; and,
WHEREAS, the nominees for the award are chosen by the community; their stories are posted online to increase visibility of these deserving individuals and to allow for voting by the public for the winner; and,
WHEREAS, the winner of the Pittsburgh Protector Award receives a grand Thanksgiving feast for up to 20 of their family and friends, compliments of the Albert Anthony Real Estate family and approved Pittsburgh Protector supporters; and,
WHEREAS, Albert Anthony Real Estate acknowledges the sacrifices and commitment that is made daily by the region’s first responders. The Pittsburgh Protectors program honors one brave man or woman each year who has gone above and beyond the typical call of duty by designating them as “Protector of the Year;” and,
WHEREAS, the 2016 Pittsburgh Protector Awardee is Thomas Polito, who has worked diligently to protect his community and has on several occasions intervened in emergency situations to help his neighbors. He has demonstrated his dedication to preserving the well-being of his friends, neighbors, and colleagues; and,

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and extend deep appreciation to all nominated Pittsburgh Protectors for their selfless commitment to the community and congratulates the Albert Anthony Real Estate family for creating this recognition; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, December 20, 2016 to be “PITTSBURGH PROTECTOR OF THE YEAR THOMAS POLITO DAY” in the City of Pittsburgh.
