Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Robert "Bob" Palmosina for his exemplary service, profound dedication to youth development, and enduring impact on the City of Pittsburgh; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh in gratitude and celebration, does hereby declare, Thursday, December 11, 2025 to be "Bob Palmosina Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

Body

WHEREAS, Robert “Bob” Palmosina native son of the Westwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh and the youngest of seven is a graduate of Saint Margaret of Scotland Grade School and Canevin High School; and

 

WHEREAS, Bob’s life has been marked not only by personal devotion-marrying his high school sweetheart Pam, and together raising three sons-- Nico, Gino, and Dominic, but also a steadfast commitment to the City of Pittsburgh communities, currently residing in Banksville; and

 

WHEREAS, beginning his career as a summer laborer in the Pittsburgh Department of Public Works, Bob Palmosina devoted 31 years of exceptional service to the City of Pittsburgh, rising through the ranks to become Assistant Director, and further serving Allegheny County as Road Manger, with his experience presently as Director of Public Works in Collier Township; and 

 

WHEREAS, Bob has pursued civic involvement with earnest dedication, commencing with service as an Allegheny County Democratic Committeeman, then as 20th Ward Chairman, and furthered pursued elected office and currently serves and is a valued member of the Allegheny County Council member in the 12th District, where his leadership and advocacy have elevated community priorities; and

 

WHEREAS, Bob dedication to his community is further exemplified by his decade’s long leadership in youth sports, including coaching baseball in Westwood and Greentree, coaching football at Our Lady of Grace, and many years of steadfast service as staff coach at Saint Margaret of Scotland, in addition to managing the Little Dribblers program; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Robert “Bob” Palmosina for his exemplary service, profound dedication to youth development, and enduring impact on the City of Pittsburgh; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh in gratitude and celebration, does hereby declare, Thursday, December 11, 2025 to be “Bob Palmosina Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
