Title: Now, therefore be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh acknowledges each and every one of the below-mentioned organizations, members of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Alliance, that are dedicated to bringing the best of the arts to us, not only for their collective talent, but also for their collective love.

                     WHEREAS, the arts community has lost one of its most brilliant members upon the tragic passing of musician Emily Norman Davidson, who died on November 2, 2003; and

 

                     WHEREAS, Emily Norman Davidson, an outstanding violinist and a founding member of internationally acclaimed Chatham Baroque, the successful, independent early music quartet headquartered in Pittsburgh, possessed a rare business acumen that matched her creative artistry; and

 

WHEREAS, along with her loving parents, Liane and Robert Norman, and family and friends who adored her, Emily Norman Davidson is survived by her 9 year old daughter, Katie Rose Davidson; and

 

                     WHEREAS, in celebration of Emily Norman Davidson's life, the arts community of Pittsburgh has joined to offer Katie a lifetime pass to attend the arts events or classes to which her mother surely would have taken her had she been here with us; and

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Pittsburgh community mourns the loss of Emily Norman Davidson, yet is grateful for the strength and overwhelming support the arts community has shown for one of its own; and

 

                     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh acknowledges each and every one of the below-mentioned organizations, members of the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Alliance, that are dedicated to bringing the best of the arts to us, not only for their collective talent, but also for their collective love.
