Resolution amending Resolution No. 707 of 2019, which authorized the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to enter into an agreement or agreements, or the use of existing agreements, with Enel X North America, Inc. ("Enel X"), for energy consultant services in connection with the City’s aggregated purchase of electricity along with other members of the Western Pennsylvania Energy Consortium, by extending the term by five (5) months, at no additional cost to the City.

WHEREAS, the City, through its Department of Public Works, issued a request for proposals ("RFP") for a vendor to provide energy consultant services on behalf of the Western Pennsylvania Energy Consortium (“WPEC”); and

 

WHEREAS, WPEC is comprised of public and private entities who have partnered together in order to aggregate their electricity purchases, optimize savings and maximize their use of renewable energy sources; and

 

WHEREAS, the City’s current electricity supply contract expires in October 2025; and

 

WHEREAS, other WPEC members shall execute separate agreements with Enel X to pay for said consultant services in prorated volumetric amounts based on their respective usage of electricity; and

 

WHEREAS, Enel X and the City has worked with the other WPEC members in order to align respective individual electricity contracts accordingly.

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works are hereby authorized, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to enter into an agreement or agreements, or the use of existing agreements, with Enel X North America, Inc. ("Enel X"), for energy

consultant services in connection with the City’s aggregated purchase of electricity along with other members of the Western Pennsylvania Energy Consortium, by extending the term by five (5) months, at no additional cost to the City.

 

Said agreement(s) shall provide those costs must be paid to Enel X directly from the payments made by the City to its electricity supplier.  Said agreement(s) shall have no not-to-exceed amount or predetermined kilowatt per hour rate.  City electricity payments are chargeable to and payable from the following account:

Section 2.                     Said Agreement or Agreements thereto shall be approved by the City Solicitor as to form.
