Resolution authorizing execution of a Deed, by and between the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh and the City of Pittsburgh, for the sale of 21 parcels in the 10^th, 14^th, 16^th, and 24^th Wards of the City of Pittsburgh (Council Districts 1, 3, 5, 7, & 9) to be dedicated as public greenspace at no cost to the City.

WHEREAS, the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (“URA”), owner of certain property, has requested authorization to execute a Deed or Deeds by and between the URA and the City of Pittsburgh for the sale of 21 parcels at no cost to the City; and

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh has requested authorization to accept the aforementioned Deeds for the purpose of dedicating the parcels as public greenspace; and

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh believes that the proposed conveyance is in the best interest of the City of Pittsburgh and desires to give its approval in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Redevelopment Law.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Directors of the Department on Finance and Department of Public Works on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh are authorized to execute all relevant documents to accept from the Urban Redevelopment Authority certain parcels listed and described further in Section 2 of this resolution.  

Section 2.                     The execution of deeds by and between the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh and the City of Pittsburgh for the sale of the following listed 21 parcels for sum of $1.00, is hereby approved.

i.                     Block 050-B, Lot 045 in the 10^th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh

ii.                     Block 050-B, Lot 047 in the 10^th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh

iii.                     Block 050-F, Lot 275 in the 10^th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh

iv.                     Block 050-F, Lot 276 in the 10^th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh

v.                     Block 081-A, Lot 225 in the 10^th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh

vi.                     Block 088-G, Lot 328 in the 14^th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh
