WHEREAS, Kevin Quigley was born on February 26, 1964 to Robert Blair and Rosemary (Fitzsimmons) Quigley. He was raised in the North Side neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh and is the youngest of seven, namely Robert, Ronald, Deborah, Rose, Richard, Donna and Kevin. He is the proud father of Kevin Jr, Joseph Sinatra, Kathleen and Shannon; and,

WHEREAS, Kevin graduated from David B. Oliver High School in 1982. He began working with the City of Pittsburgh Department of General Services in 1986, then the weatherization program with the Department of Housing. He started with the Department of Public Works in 1990. In 2004, he became Chief of Staff for District 1 Council Member Luke Ravenstahl; and,
WHEREAS, when the late Bob O’Connor became Mayor in 2006, Kevin became Manager of Facilities where he coordinated and managed the Green Up Program, maintaining approximately 30 garden spaces, and the Redd Up Program, which removed 950,000 tons of trash from vacant lots and properties throughout the city. In 2008, under the Ravenstahl Administration, he became Assistant Director, Public Works; and,
WHEREAS, in 2015, Mr. Quigley joined the Allegheny County Controller’s Office under Chelsa Wagner and is currently under Controller Corey O’Connor as Manager, Construction Inspection and Asset Management; and,
WHEREAS, he has been an active City of Pittsburgh Democratic Committee Member since 1994. Kevin was the 27th Ward Chair from 2011-2022 and has held the positions of City Committee Vice Chair and City Committee Chair. He is a results-driven devoted community participant who enjoys helping residents and community groups with various needs. Kevin is known for his remarkable kindness and concern for others and his dedication and service continue to this day; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Kevin Quigley for his service to the City of Pittsburgh and his community and wish him many more birthdays to come; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Monday, February 26, 2024 to be “Kevin Quigley Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
