WHEREAS, the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh (“URA”) is the owner of certain real property between 21st Street and 23rd Street abutting the Allegheny River, located in the 2nd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and designated in the Deed Registry Office of Allegheny County Block 24-S, Lot 80 (the “Riverfront Property”);

 

WHEREAS, the City has made available to the public a recreational trail along the Allegheny River (the “Three Rivers Heritage Trail”); and

 

WHEREAS, the URA has agreed to accommodate the City’s Three Rivers Heritage Trail by conveying to the City a permanent trail Easement Agreement for the portion of the Riverfront Property described, for use by the public as part of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail, in perpetuity, upon the terms and conditions contained in a trail easement Agreement...

 

 

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a permanent trail Easement Agreement over a portion of the parcel designated as Block 24-S, Lot 80 (24-S-80), in the Deed Registry Office of Allegheny County with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh for the purpose of preserving this section of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail as an accessible public amenity in perpetuity.

 

Section 2.                     The Agreement is subject to the approval of the City Solicitor as to form and substance.
