Resolution vacating Seal Street and a portion of Shipton Street in the 5th Ward, 6th Council District of the City of Pittsburgh.

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.  WHEREAS, it appears by the petition and affidavit on file in the Office of the City Clerk that the owners of all the property fronting or abutting on the line of Seal and Shipton Streets in the 5th Ward, 6th Council District of the City of Pittsburgh, have petitioned the Council of the City of Pittsburgh to enact a resolution for the vacation of same, and

 

WHEREAS, said petition contains inter-alia, an indemnification of the City from any claims and from the payment of any damages whatsoever resulting to any properties owned by the petitioners or by any persons whatsoever, abutting or non-abutting, for or by reason of said vacation; therefore

 

That vacating Seal Street, beginning at a point at the intersection of the southerly line of Bedford Avenue with the easterly line of Seal Street as laid out on Keatings Plan of Lots, Deed Book Volume 38 Pages 138 and 139.

 

Thence, along the easterly line of Seal Street as laid out in the said plan, South 30° 21' 18" East a distance of 279.06 feet to point at the intersection of the easterly line of Seal Street with the northerly line of Webster Avenue;

 

Thence, along the northerly line of Webster Avenue, South 60° 55' 52" West a distance of 30.01 feet to a point at the intersection of the northerly line of Webster Avenue with the westerly line of Seal Street;

 

Thence, along the westerly line of Seal Street, North 30° 21' 18" West a distance of 278.96 feet to a point at the intersection of the westerly line of Seal Street with the southerly line of Bedford Avenue;

 

Thence, along the southerly line of Bedford Avenue, North 60° 53' 21" East a distance of 30.01 feet to a point at the intersection of the southerly line of Bedford Avenue with the easterly line of Seal Street, the said intersection of the lines being the place of beginning.

 

Containing an area of 8,369+ square feet.

 

 And vacating a portion of Shipton Street, beginning at a point on the westerly line of Shipton Street as laid out on Keatings Plan of Lots, Deed Book Volume 38 Pages 138 and 139, said point being located South 30° 21' 18" East along the westerly line of Shipton Street, a distance of 83.24 feet from the intersection of the westerly line of Shipton Street with the southerly line of Bedford Avenue;

 

Thence, along the westerly line of Shipton Street, South 30° 21' 18" East a distance of 195.11 feet to point at the intersection of the westerly line of Shipton Street with the northerly line of Webster Avenue;

 

Thence, along the northerly line of Webster Avenue, North 60° 55' 52" East a distance of 30.01 feet to a point at the intersection of the northerly line of Webster Avenue with the easterly line of Shipton Street;

 

Thence, along the easterly line of Shipton Street, North 30° 21' 18" West a distance of 195.56 feet to a point at the southwesterly corner of property, now or formerly, Roderick Colbert, being Tax Block 10-J Lot 214;

 

Thence, crossing through Shipton Street, South 60° 53' 21" West a distance of 30.01 feet to a point, being the place of beginning.

 

Containing an area of 5,867+square feet and also reserving the right of easement of a 15" sewer line on Seal Street and a 15" sewer line on Shipton Street and a 4" water line on Seal Street and an 8" water line on Shipton Street located therein, in the 5th Ward, 6th Council District of the City of Pittsburgh as described below shall be and the same is hereby vacated.
