Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Public Works to enter into an agreement or agreements with Davey Resources Group for a multi-year subscription to Treekeeper 7.5, at a cost not to exceed $6,250.00

WHEREAS, Chapter 487 of the City Code provides that the Shade Tree Commission shall ensure that an inventory of the City's shade trees is conducted; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 531 of 1998, the Director of the Department of Public Works is authorized to use monies deposited into the Shade Tree Trust Fund to cover expenses associated with tree-related projects recommended affirmatively by the Shade Tree Commission; and
WHEREAS, the CITY entered into an Agreement dated February 23, 2005 and a Supplemental Agreement dated January 6, 2006, with DRG to perform an inventory of street and certain park trees within the City of Pittsburgh, to provide a comprehensive tree management plan, and to purchase sole source items and tech support/maintenance from DRG in conjunction with the aforementioned inventories and tree management plan; and
WHEREAS, the sole source items and tech support were specifically for modules, subscriptions, and tech support/maintenance for a product called TreeKeeper 7.5 which is an online tree management database; and
WHEREAS, the CITY would now like to purchase an additional three (3) year subscription to TreeKeeper 7.5.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works are authorized to enter into an Agreement or Agreements with Davey Resource Group to purchase an additional three (3) year subscription to TreeKeeper 7.5 plus included software and tech support/maintenance for a fee of Six Thousand, Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($6,250.00) payable from and chargeable to the Shade Tree Trust Fund Fund 2853, Org 400000, Sub 600, Budget Year 2007, Account 525500. The Agreement(s) shall be approved by the City Solicitor in form and substance.
