Title

Resolution amending Resolution No. 224, effective May 17, 2022, which authorized the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, or the use of existing Agreements, between the City of Pittsburgh and Sasha Reisin, for the creation and installation of public art at Arsenal Park, by authorizing the agreement to be made with Mango Tava, Inc., on behalf of the artist.

Body

WHEREAS, Arsenal Park is undergoing renovations as a project of the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, the budget for this renovation includes funds for the inclusion of a new piece of public art to be made onsite; and

WHEREAS, the Department of City Planning includes a Public Art & Civic Design division that administers the implementation of City of Pittsburgh public art projects; and 

WHEREAS, on December 22, 2021, the Office of Management and Budget, on behalf of the Department of Public Works and the Public Art & Civic Design Division, released a Request for Proposals to solicit for the coordination of the design, fabrication, and installation of this public art project; and

WHEREAS, a selection committee chose Sasha Reisin of Mango Tava Inc. for the public art project implementation; and

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.                     “Resolution No. 224, effective May 17, 2022, entitled “Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, or the use of existing Agreements, for the creation and installation of public art at Arsenal Park, between the City of Pittsburgh and Sasha Reisin. The total not to exceed cost is Seventeen Thousand ($17,000.00) Dollars”

is hereby amended to read as follows

Section 1.  The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, are hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement or Agreements, or the use of existing Agreements, between the City of Pittsburgh and Mango Tava Inc., for the creation and installation of public art at Arsenal Park, at a cost not to exceed Seventeen Thousand Dollars ($17,000.00).
