Title: Now therefore be it resolved, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares Tuesday, May 9, 2006 as "Stranger Danger Awareness Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, a program sponsored by the Allegheny General Hospital Auxiliary and the Allegheny General Hospital-North Side Leadership Conference Partnership, on "Stranger Danger Awareness" will be conducted throughout the month of May; and
WHEREAS, the disappearance and murder of East Allegheny resident Scott Drake was the catalyst for the Stranger Danger Awareness Program on the North Side; and
WHEREAS, the program is in its fifth year of targeting students in North Side Elementary Schools - this year being at the Horace Mann Elementary School, Manchester Elementary School and Spring Hill Elementary School; and
WHEREAS the elementary students receive three days of instruction from Taylor Allderdice, Oliver High School, and Perry Traditional Academy students focusing on the importance of Stranger Danger Awareness on April 28, May 5 and May 12; and
WHEREAS the program will conclude with a performance for students by David Grover and the Big Bear Band on Monday, May 15 and Tuesday, May 16; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh wishes to recognize, commend and thank the following individuals for their participation in this program:
