Title: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday December 29th, 2024, to be "Chabad of Greenfield Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

Body

WHEREAS, Chabad of Greenfield is a center of Jewish life, learning, and community in Greenfield, providing spiritual, educational, and social services to individuals and families of all backgrounds; and, 

 

WHEREAS, founded in 2010 by Rabbi Elchonon Friedman and directed and expanded since 2020 by Rabbi Yitzchak Goldwasser, the Chabad House follows the teachings and vision of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, whose life and leadership inspired millions worldwide to embrace their Jewish heritage with joy, commitment, and a sense of responsibility to help others; and,

 

WHEREAS, through its commitment to outreach and education, Chabad of Greenfield provides a welcoming environment where Jews of all backgrounds can connect to their faith, heritage, and community; and,

 

WHEREAS, Chabad’s mission is to inspire and uplift every individual with the timeless values of Torah, the warmth of Jewish tradition, and the message of unconditional love for all people, as taught by the Lubavitcher Rebbe; and,

 

WHEREAS, Chabad of Greenfield plays a vital role in serving the needs of the Pittsburgh Jewish community through a wide range of educational programs, religious services, social outreach, and community-building activities; and,

 

WHEREAS, the dedication of the Chabad House and its leadership has fostered a greater sense of unity, pride, and spiritual connection among the Jewish residents of Greenfield, while also reaching out to the broader community with acts of kindness and compassion; and,

 

WHEREAS, the work of Chabad is based on the belief that every Jew, regardless of background or level of observance, has a unique and invaluable role to play in bringing light and goodness to the world, as emphasized by the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe; and,

 

WHEREAS, Chabad of Greenfield continues to thrive and grow, providing a vital space for prayer, study, and fellowship, all in the spirit of the Rebbe’s call to inspire others and elevate the world through love, kindness, and Torah values;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday December 29th, 2024, to be “Chabad of Greenfield Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
