Title

Ordinance amending Ordinance 4 of 2006 creating the “2006 Major League Baseball All-Star Game Overlay Zone” to clarify placement of tents and inflatables in the Safety and Overlay Zones and to delete reference to an unused exhibit.

Body

Be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:Section 1.                     Sections 532.04(C)(b) and 532.04(C)(c), Signage, Tents, and Inflatable of Chapter 532 of the Pittsburgh City Code, titled “2006 Major League Baseball All-Star Game Overlay Zone,” are hereby amended as follows:

§  532.04                     Signage, Tents, and Inflatables

C.                     Limited duration permits may be issued by the City 's Fire Bureau for structures including tents and inflatables to be located within the Safety Zone and Overlay Zone as set forth herein:

a.                     All tents and inflatables shall be subject to conditions established by the City and shall be in compliance with the City Code and applicable regulations, including fees therefore. However, individual occupancy permits shall not be required so long as the use is otherwise permitted in the Zoning District.  Occupancy permits shall be required prior to erecting any tents.

b.                     Tents and inflatables in the Safety Zone shall be limited to an entertainment area specified in any required Special Events Permit applications and approved by the City's Special Events Committee and public safety officials. All tents and inflatables permitted in the Safety Zone shall be subject to prior inspection by public safety officials.  

c.                     Due to expected congestion and traffic at times of certain All-Star Game Activities, no tents or inflatables shall be permitted within the public right of way in the Overlay Zone during the times/and in the high congestion areas further described in Exhibit F.  No limited duration permits will be granted for these times and areas. 

Section 2.  The list of Exhibits is hereby amended to delete Exhibit F.
