Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the students and staff of Bishop Canevin High School for their energy and dedication that they have devoted to this production and for their continued support for arts education; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday-Saturday, April 25-27th, 2013, to be “Bishop Canevin's Musical Theater Days” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Bishop Canevin High School's  Music Department, located at 2700 Morange Road in Oakwood, will be putting on the production of the musical "In the Heights" Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 25, 26 and 27th; and,
WHEREAS, the talented students and staff of Bishop Canevin High School have worked very hard putting on this production which tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York's Washington Heights neighborhood and has won four 2008 Tony Awards; and,
WHEREAS, Bishop Canevin High School  will be one of 27 schools that will participate in the 23rd Annual Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater on Saturday, May 25, 2013 where college scholarships are awarded annually to qualified participating seniors; and,
