WHEREAS, in 2012 the Northside Leadership Conference organized the first ever Northside Sandwich Week to showcase some of the tastiest and most creative sandwiches that the Northside had to offer, and to encourage people to support local businesses; and,
WHEREAS, following the successes in years past, Northside Sandwich Week is back, and starting on May 19, 2016, participating restaurants will compete for the title of “Northside Sandwich King”; and,
WHEREAS, all of the sandwiches will be available at the Sandwich Sampler, which will be held at the Priory Grand Hall on May 19, 2016, from 6:00-9:00PM; and,
WHEREAS, the restaurants and sandwiches to be featured in the 2016 Northside Sandwich Week are:

WHEREAS, the 2016 Northside Sandwich Week will feature the following celebrity judges:
Charlie Deitch - Writer for the Pittsburgh City Paper
Davon Magwood - Comedian
Clinton Clegg - Front Man for Rock - n - Roll Band “The Commonheart”
Val Porter - Music Director for WDVE and Member of the DVE Morning Show

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the Northside Leadership Conference, and all of the participants in the 2016 Northside Sandwich Week for making such a unique and enjoyable event possible; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare May 19 to May 29, 2016, to be “Northside Sandwich Week” in the City of Pittsburgh.
