Title

Resolution providing that the City of Pittsburgh enter into a renewal of the professional services Contract or Contracts currently in place with ALLEGHENY GENERAL HOSPITAL (AGH) for the purposes of on-going medical care provided to City of Pittsburgh employees who require treatment for service related injuries and/or illnesses pursuant to the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act and providing for the payment of the cost thereof.  Cost not to exceed $4,337,250, plus administrative costs not to exceed $260,000.

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.  The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a Contract or Contracts, in a form approved by the City Solicitor: ALLEGHENY GENERAL HOSPITAL (AGH) shall provide on-going treatment for service related injuries and/or illnesses to CITY employees under the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act.  AGH shall render comprehensive medical care services for CITY employees on an as-needed basis, provide inpatient as well as ambulatory services for injured CITY employees, provide case management services, provide infectious disease management and pharmacy review services as described in the original contract dated January 1, 2002. As Amended January 1, 2005, AGH will also provide drug and alcohol testing to City employees involved in on-the-job injuries. AGH shall maintain application outsourcing services and hosting services for the performance of medical care and services as agreed upon in the contract made between the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny General Hospital on June 13, 2002 at a cost not to exceed Four Million Three Hundred Thirty Seven Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($4,337,250), plus Administrative Costs in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($ 260,000) chargeable to and payable from Code Account 44-9, Employee Expense Workers' Compensation Program Medical, Index Code 004499, Account 571100, Fund 8170, Organization 999300, Sub Class 600 and Budget Year 2005, Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission.
