Title
Resolution authorizing a 2005-2006 Cooperation Agreement or Agreements with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh providing for the designation of the local matching share for a grant applied for in a Single Application for Assistance filed with the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development ("DCED") under the Communities of Opportunity Program. (Council Districts: All).

Whereas, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh has authorized the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh ("URA") to file a Single Application for Assistance for a grant in the amount of up to $6,000,000 with DCED for the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh ("URA") administers the Urban Development Fund, East Liberty Revitalization, Beltzhoover Housing, Streetface, Neighborhood Housing, Housing Recovery, Community Development Investment Fund, Public Space Improvements, Industrial Site Acquisition, Hazelwood Revitalization, Centre Avenue Revitalization, Federal Hill Revitalization, Pittsburgh Housing Construction Fund, Rental Housing Development and Improvement, Garfield Housing, Closed Schools and Lawrenceville Revitalization programs and for the administration of these programs; and
Whereas, the City and URA desire to enter into a Cooperation Agreement to provide for the designation of certain funds in the amount of $13,127,970 as the local matching share for the grant.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is authorized and directed to enter into a 2005-2006 Cooperation Agreement or Agreements with the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh, in a form approved by the City Solicitor, providing for the designation of Community Development Block Grant, HOME and private funds in the amount of $13,127,970 as the local matching share for a grant applied for in the Single Application for Assistance filed with DCED.
Section 2. The City of Pittsburgh will assume the provision of the full aforementioned local share of project costs and will reimburse the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the Commonwealth's share of any expenditure found by the DCED to be ineligible.
