Resolution providing for the designation as a Historic Site under Title 11 of the Code of Ordinances that certain site known as Veteran’s Memorial Parklet, located at 1020 Brookline Boulevard (97-H-7), in Brookline, in the 19th Ward, City of Pittsburgh.  The owner of the property supports the nomination and there is no cost to the City.

WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh has duly enacted Title 11 of the Code of Ordinances, which protects and preserves Historic Structures, Districts, Sites, and Objects; and

 

WHEREAS, Blake Plavchak nominated Veteran’s Memorial parklet, located at 1020 Brookline Boulevard (97-H-7) for designation as a Historic Site; and

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Review Commission has held a public hearing to gather testimony from the property owner and other interested parties concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Review Commission has voted to recommend that City Council designate Veteran’s Memorial Parklet, located at 1020 Brookline Boulevard (97-H-7) as a Historic Site; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has held a public hearing to gather testimony from the property owner and other interested parties concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has voted to recommend that City Council designate Veteran’s Memorial Parklet, located at 1020 Brookline Boulevard (97-H-7) as a Historic Site; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh has held a public hearing to gather testimony from the public concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh finds that the aforementioned Veteran’s Memorial Parklet is a Historic Site that should be preserved;

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     Pursuant to the provisions of Title 11 of the Code of Ordinances, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby designates as a Historic Site, Veteran’s Memorial Parklet, located at 1020 Brookline Boulevard (97-H-7), in Brookline, in the 19th Ward, City of Pittsburgh.
