Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares April 20, 2006 the new Pittsburgh Neighborhood Tours website day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, The Pittsburgh Neighborhood Tours is a collaborative project of seven neighborhood based economic development organizations consisting of Bloomfield, Lawrenceville, Mt. Washington, North Side, Oakland, South Side and the Strip District with the partnership of the Greater Pittsburgh Convention & Visitors Bureau, Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation and the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh; and
 
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Neighborhood Tours are the first collaborative effort of its kind in the City of Pittsburgh, and features seven city neighborhoods-Bloomfield, Lawrenceville, Mt. Washington, North Side, Oakland, South Side and the Strip District; and
 
WHEREAS, the dual aim of the project are to market the city through its neighborhoods and to draw visitors into the city for authentic and under-known experiences that typically only residents get to enjoy; and
 
WHEREAS, members of the Pittsburgh Neighborhood Tours include Amy Camp of the South Side Development Corporation, Robin Miller of the North Side Chamber of Commerce, Janet Scullion of the Bloomfield Preservation & Heritage Society, Becky Rodgers and Barb DeTemple of Neighbors in the Strip, Greg Panza of Mt. Washington Community Development Corporation,  Jennifer Kent of the Lawrenceville Corporation, Georgia Petropoulos of the Oakland Business Improvement District, Colleen Kalchthaler, Tinsy Lipchak, Beverly Morrow-Jones, and Lynne Glover of Greater Pittsburgh Convention Visitors Bureau, Pittsburgh History and Landmarks and Urban Redevelopment Authority; and
 
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Neighborhood Tours are celebrating Pittsburgh Neighborhoods and the unveiling of the new Pittsburgh Neighborhood Tours website, April 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Senator John Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center in the Strip District.
