Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the Pittsburgh Police Bureau Zone 2, Zone 3, Zone 4, Zone 5 and the Major Crimes Unit; the FBI Safe Streets Task Force; The University of Pittsburgh Police; Brentwood Borough Police Department; Mt. Oliver Police, Allegheny County Police and the Allegheny County Emergency Operations for their commitment and expeditious work in solving this case; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Monday, September 24, 2012, to be “Public Safety Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Police Bureau Zone 4 and Pitt Police were the first to respond and were able to lay the groundwork for an investigation that led Pittsburgh Police to the kidnapped baby from Magee Womens Hospital on Thursday, August 23, 2012; and,  
 
WHEREAS, the FBI provided invaluable assistance to the Major Crimes unit of the Pittsburgh Police Bureau and Zone 2 and Detectives retrieved information that led Zone 2 to the suspect and the infant on the 21st floor of the Investment Building on Fourth Avenue Downtown Pittsburgh hiding in a stairwell and officers took the baby to safety and apprehended the actor; and,
