Resolution amending Resolution No. 563, effective September 16, 2019, entitled “authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, to enter into a Professional Services Agreement between the City of Pittsburgh and Buchart Horn Architects, for architectural and engineering design services related to the renovation of the former Thaddeus Stevens School for use by the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Special Deployment Division, for the not to exceed amount of NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED NINETY FIVE DOLLARS AND TWENTY TWO CENTS ($973,595.22),” by amending the title of the resolution and increasing the allocation for the not-to-exceed amount of ONE MILLION FOUR HUNDRED TWELVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED TWENTY EIGHT DOLLARS AND TWENTY SEVEN CENTS ($1,412,328.27) an increase of $438,733.05.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1 of Resolution No. 563, effective September 16, 2019, which presently reads as follows:
Section 1. “The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, are hereby authorized to enter into a Professional Services Agreement between the City of Pittsburgh and Buchart Horn Architects, for architectural and engineering design services related to the renovation of the former Thaddeus Stevens School for use by the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Special Deployment Division, for the not to exceed amount of NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED NINETY FIVE DOLLARS AND TWENTY TWO CENTS ($973,595.22). Renovation is part of an ongoing project utilizing BOND and GRANT funds, and therefore, may be phased over several years.”
The Agreement shall be chargeable to and payable from the following Capital line item:

Is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 1. “The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, are hereby authorized to enter into a Professional Services Agreement between the City of Pittsburgh and Buchart Horn Architects, for architectural and engineering design services related to the renovation of the former Thaddeus Stevens School, for the not to exceed amount of ONE MILLION FOUR HUNDRED TWELVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED TWENTY EIGHT DOLLARS AND TWENTY SEVEN CENTS ($1,412,328.27). Renovation is part of an ongoing project utilizing BOND and GRANT funds, and therefore, may be phased over several years.”
Thaddeus Stevens School is being remodeled for a change in program and adapting the facility to NetZero Ready goals to align with Climate Action Plan as set forth through Council resolution No. 354 of 2018.
Funds are available in the Facility Improvements-Public Safety Facility (BOND) line item, 2020 DELIVERABLE:
