WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh has duly enacted Title 11 of the Code of Ordinances, which protects and preserves Historic Structures, Districts, Sites, and Objects; and

 

WHEREAS, the Officers Quarters are located on Parcel 49-E-132 and the Wall Segments are located on Parcels 49-E128, 49-E-136, 49-E-132, 49-A-3, 49-A-5; and

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Review Commission held a public hearing to gather testimony from the property owner and other interested parties concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Historic Review Commission has voted to provide a positive recommendation to City Council to designate Allegheny Arsenal Officers Quarters and Wall Segments as a Historic Site; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission has held a public hearing to gather testimony from the property owner and other interested parties concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission voted to provide a positive recommendation to City Council for designating the Allegheny Arsenal Officers Quarters and Wall Segments as a Historic Site; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh held a public hearing to gather testimony from the public concerning the appropriateness of this designation; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh finds that the aforementioned Allegheny Arsenal Officers Quarters and Wall Segments are a Historic Site that should be preserved;

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     Pursuant to the provisions of Title 11 of the Code of Ordinances, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby designates as a Historic Site, the Allegheny Arsenal Officers Quarters and Wall Segments (49-E128, 49-E-136, 49-E-132; 49-A-3, 49-A-5, 49-E-124, 49-E-120, 49-A-1) located in the Lower Lawrenceville neighborhood, in the 6th Ward, City of Pittsburgh.
