Title
Authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to enter into a professional services agreement or agreements, in form and substance satisfactory to the City Solicitor, for the design and delivery of a Street Tree Inventory software program ("Database Application").
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh, by Ordinance of City Council, requires a comprehensive inventory of shade trees in the City of Pittsburgh and has charged the Pittsburgh Shade Tree Commission with the power and duty to cause the conducting and supervision of such an inventory (Pittsburgh City Code Title Four, Article XIII, Chapter 487, Section 487.06.); and
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Shade Tree Commission, to assist in the efficient creation of a tree inventory, requires the development of a computerized database and has requested in writing that the City engage professional services to develop and design such a database; and
WHEREAS, by resolution No. 531 of 1998, effective September 24, 1998, the City Controller was authorized and directed to create a Shade Tree Trust Fund for any and all expenses associated with the operation and implementation of projects relating to the planting and promotion of trees within the City;
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1: A. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Public Works are authorized, on behalf of the City, to enter into an agreement or agreements for professional services, in form and substance satisfactory to the City Solicitor, for the design and delivery to the City of a database application in the nature of a street tree inventory software program.
B. The total amount payable under said agreement or agreements shall not exceed the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5000.00), appropriated for the same, chargeable to and payable from the Pittsburgh Shade Tree Trust Fund as follows: Account 525500, Fund 2853, Org. 42000, Sub-Class 600, Budget Year 2003 2004.
C. The Director of the Department of Finance shall provide to the Department of Public Works Forestry Division every six (6) months, beginning from the date of passage of this resolution, a report detailing revenue provided to the Shade Tree Commission derived from the city's bus shelter program:
The report shall include the following information:
- Revenue received for the six (6) month reporting period; and
- A cumulative total of revenues received from the bus shelter program and available to the Shade Tree Commission.
