Whereas, 2011 brings the 7th annual occurrence of the Kindergarten
Here I Come! event; and,
Whereas, the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh strives to celebrate and improve children's transition into kindergarten; and
Whereas, the Kindergarten
Here I Come! program seeks to make each child's education healthy and collaborative, and to advocate the idea that good education requires community and parental support; and
Whereas, Kindergarten
Here I Come! is just one of the many Children's Museum programs aimed at improving the lives and education of local families and new generations, and
Whereas, each instance of Kindergarten
Here I Come! has been an improvement on the previous one, adding new excitement, activities, supporters, and information for aspiring students and their parents; and,
Whereas, the program assures strong academic development from the beginning of children's scholastic careers by building character and emotional vigor; and,
Whereas, this year's program offers a variety of excellent, school-related and encouraging events for young children and parents, including art projects; live performances; story readings; free books and t-shirts; informational sessions with child development, health, nutrition, after school program, and bullying experts.

Now, therefore be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and honor the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and celebrates the beginning of many new academic careers with the Kindergarten
Here I Come! program; and
Be it further resolved, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, August 13, 2011 Kindergarten
Here I Come! Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
