Title
Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Public Works to execute the South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association Memorandum of Understanding for the 18th Street Steps Public Safety Lighting Project.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Pittsburgh recognizes the importance of supporting community groups in their efforts to improve their neighborhood and the City at large; and
WHEREAS, the South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association has developed a plan which provides necessary safety lighting to the 18th Street steps  in a creative and appealing manner; and
WHEREAS, the SSSNA has funded this safety lighting project utilizing state grant money through the Elm Street Program and private foundation funding from  Duquesne Light Company; and
WHEREAS, City partnership is sought to assume ongoing electric consumption charges for this project as it will operate primarily as safety lighting for this public right-of-way.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1.      The Mayor and the Director of Public Works are hereby authorized and directed to execute the South Side Slopes Neighborhood Association Memorandum of Understanding for the 18th Street Steps Public Safety Lighting Project.
