• Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the 5th anniversary of Love of Friends and thanks the founders for providing opportunities to celebrate friendship and community; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare February 8, 2011 “Love of Friends Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, on February 14, 2011, Love of Friends will host their 5^th annual celebration at Space Gallery; and

WHEREAS, Love of Friends will celebrate friends and their talents and gifts with local artwork, music, and food; and

WHEREAS, Love of Friends began on Valentine's Day night in 2007 and has grown into an annual gathering of over 300 people; and

WHEREAS, Love of Friends was started with the belief that Valentine's Day should celebrate friendship, food, music, art, and community and should serve as a venue to reconnect with old friends and make new ones; and

WHEREAS, Love of Friends' have given back to the Pittsburgh community by donating to nonprofit organizations and supporting the local art scene.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the 5^th anniversary of Love of Friends and thanks the founders for providing opportunities to celebrate friendship and community; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare February 8, 2011 "Love of Friends Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
