WHEREAS, Mrs. Donna Milcarek, a School Crossing Guard for the Pittsburgh Public Schools, will retire after 30 years of serving the students of the Beechview Community; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Milcarek has worked on the corners of Dagmar Avenue and Sebring Avenue for the past 30 years making sure our students are able to safely cross the streets at this busy intersection; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, Mrs. Milcarek who is also a resident of Beechview, has gone above and beyond her job responsibilities, by such acts as providing students who cross at her post with donuts and hot cocoa on cold days as well as hats and gloves to needy children; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Milcarek has often provided rides, on her own time, to fellow Beechview residents to the former Foodland in Beechview; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Milcarek, a very caring and compassionate person and a pillar of the Beechview community who deserves to be recognized for her service; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and honor Donna Milcarek for her dedicated service to the children of Pittsburgh Beechwood Elementary School and the Residents of the Neighborhood of Beechview and celebrates her well-deserved retirement.
