Resolution providing for the creation of the Monuments and War Memorials Maintenance Trust Fund and for setting conditions for the deposit and expenditure of such funds.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. That the City Controller is hereby authorized and directed to create a trust fund entitled "Monuments and War Memorials Maintenance Trust Fund" into which shall be deposited funds paid to the City for the purpose of repair, maintenance, and/or restitution for damages of monuments and memorials honoring and remembering members of our armed services, and also our "citizen soldiers" - police, firefighters and others who have given their all.
Section 2. The Trust Fund shall be established within the Department of Public Works, set forth in the City of Pittsburgh's annual budget and may only be expended through the regular contracting process or other expenditures as set forth in the city.
Section 3. Any proceeds received by the City in legal settlement of recent damage to the war memorial located in Troy Hill shall replace Council District 1 neighborhood needs monies advanced for such repair and that money shall be transferred to this Trust Fund.
