Title

Amending and supplementing the Pittsburgh Code, Title Two Fiscal, Article VII, Business Related Taxes, Chapter 253 Parking Tax, by temporarily increasing the rate to 39%.

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.  Section 253.02 of the Pittsburgh Code is hereby amended and supplemented to read as follows:

253.02 TAX LEVY AND RATE

(a)      A tax for general revenue purposes is hereby imposed upon each patron entering into a parking transaction, at the rate of [thirty-one (31)] Thirty-Nine (39%) percent of the consideration for each such transaction, which tax shall be collected by the operator from the patron, and shall be paid over to the Treasurer as provided in this Chapter.

Section 2.  This ordinance shall expire after December 31, 2003 and the Tax and Levy rate for Section 253.02 shall revert back to the rate of thirty-one (31%) percent.
