Title

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. WHEREAS, the cost to the City, in the exercise of its police powers for the protection of the health and welfare of the City residents, of producing, printing, issuing and mailing Dog License receipts to City of Pittsburgh residents pursuant to Title 6, Chapter 633 of the City Code, exceeds the amount of the fees received by the City for Dog Licenses: and

WHEREAS, it appears to the Director of the Department of Finance of the City that certain commercial entities are ready and willing to advertise on Dog License receipts issued by the City; and

WHEREAS, it appears to the Director of Finance that payment for such advertising could assist the City in defraying the costs to the City of producing and issuing Dog License receipts;

Section 1. The Director of the Department of General Services and/or the Director of the Department of Finance and/or the Director of the Department of Public Works, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement or agreements, or contract or contracts, or to use existing contract(s), in a form approved by the City Solicitor, with vendors or other entities for the right to advertise on the 2003 Dog License receipts issued by the City in exchange for payment of the City's costs for the paper, envelopes, printing and mailing by United States first class mail of Dog License receipts produced and issued by the City pursuant to Title Six, Chapter 633 of the City Code.
