WHEREAS, the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives' (NOBLE) 37th Annual Training Conference and Exhibition: "Bridging the Pathway to Justice and Equality", will be held from August 3-7, 2013 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center; delegates are expected from across the United States and as far away as Canada, the Caribbean, the UK and Africa; and,
WHEREAS, NOBLE was founded in Washington, D.C. in 1976 and is comprised of CEO and Command Level Law Enforcement officials who are committed to providing solutions to community law enforcement concerns and improving the quality of law enforcement services in our country; and,
WHEREAS, the local Pittsburgh Chapter of NOBLE was formed in 1999 and, in addition to hosting many awareness trainings and fellowships, is involved in numerous community and civil engagements including on-site technical assistance training in a variety of areas such as crime victim assistance, community oriented policing and domestic violence; and,
WHEREAS, the 12th Annual NOBLE Youth Leadership Conference titled "The Emerging Leader in You" is being held August 4-7, 2013 and consists of training workshops and activities where the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University will each host a day of the event; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend all local and national members of NOBLE for their combined and continued efforts to make a positive difference within their respective communities; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday-Wednesday, August 3-7, 2013, to be "NOBLE Days" in the City of Pittsburgh.
