Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire for supporting Pittsburgh innovation and joins with them in celebrating the City's burgeoning creative culture; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare July 30 to be “Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire is an annual showcase and interactive fair drawing residents from around the region to the City of Pittsburgh to learn, share, and create; and
 
WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Mini Maker Faire, which takes place August 18 at Buhl Park at Allegheny Square on the Northside, aims to highlight local creativity and ingenuity by offering participants a space to showcase their work; and
 
WHEREAS, this year over 2,000 spectators of all ages are expected to attend and contribute to the event; and
 
WHEREAS, more than 80 Makers from across the region will join in the festivities, exhibiting their homemade gadgets and contraptions; and
 
WHEREAS, those participants range from small children to experienced entrepreneurs, each with their own vision that will help develop and improve the city.
