Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does recognize and congratulate Steve on his richly deserved retirement from Elder-Ado, Inc., and thanks him for his tireless commitment to the City's elderly population over the years, and wishes him all the best in the future; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Thursday, May 23rd, 2013, to be Stephen L. Hutter Day in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh is always pleased to recognize those citizens who, through dedicated and meaningful service, contribute to the good of our City and its residents; and,
 
WHEREAS, Stephen L. Hutter is an outstanding example of such a citizen, having served for nineteen years as the Executive Director of Elder-Ado, Inc., where he has offered exemplary service to the elderly population of South Pittsburgh; and,
 
WHEREAS, a graduate of both Saint Michael High School and Allegheny County Community College, Steve holds both a bachelor's and master's degree from The Pennsylvania State University, and began his professional career as Director of Social Services at The Stephen Foster Community Center in January 1975 ;and,
 
WHEREAS, joining Elder-Ado on September 26th, 1994, as Executive Director, Steve has served in this role over the last nineteen years, overseeing the Knoxville, McKinley Park and Carrick senior centers with unmatched dedication, earning the deep respect and admiration of his friends, colleagues and members of the community; and,
 
WHEREAS, in addition to his distinguished work at Elder-Ado, Steve has been incredibly active in his community, volunteering at the Hilltop Computer Center, the Carnegie Library, Mt. Oliver Community Clean-up, the Mt. Oliver Halloweenfest, and the Mt. Oliver Car Cruise; and,
