Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Mrs. Susie Marbury on her 90th birthday, with sincere congratulations and hope for many more happy years to come. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare September 26, 2012, to be “Susie Dell Burroughs Marbury Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Susie Dell Burroughs Marbury was born in Greensboro, Alabama on September 26, 1922 to Suzie and Ludie Borroughs, and is being honored by friends and relatives on her 90th birthday; and,
 
WHEREAS, Susie was married to her husband, Sherrill Marbury in 1939 and moved to Connellsville, Pennsylvania shortly after.  In 1941, Mr. and Mrs. Marbury moved to Pittsburgh's Hill District where they lived peacefully and in companionship until his death in 1998.  Mrs. Marbury is still an active Hill District resident, living in the same home where she and her husband raised six children; and,
 
WHEREAS, Susie Marbury retired from Duquesne University in 1987 and then moved on to Eichleay Engineers, Inc. until 1998.  During Mrs. Marbury's long and productive lifetime, she has earned the respect an affection of all those with whom she has come into contact with; and,
 
WHEREAS, Susie's family and friends are honored to celebrate her 90th birthday and thank her for her caring and sharing spirit.
